SSLiP Researchers from NTNU and POLIMI Contribute to ON-DEM COST Action

The SSLiP project continues to build strong connections across Europe, with researchers from NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) and POLIMI (Politecnico di Milano) actively contributing to the EU-funded COST Action CA22132 “ON-DEM” – ON-Demand Multiscale Modelling of Granular Materials (https://www.cost.eu/actions/CA22132/).

Representing Norway and Italy respectively, SSLiP researchers serve as national delegates and members of the ON-DEM Management Committee, helping shape the direction of this collaborative European initiative.

One of the key moments highlighting this synergy occurred during the Opening Conference of ON-DEM, held at Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland, on May 15–16, 2024.
Dr. Dalila Vescovi from POLIMI presented her research on SSLiP to the ON-DEM community, with the SSLiP logo featured prominently during her talk.

The collaboration deepened further in June 2025, when Dr. Vescovi participated in the 4th IMA Conference on Dense Granular Flows, held in Cambridge, UK. Her presentation on SSLiP was supported by a Dissemination Conference Grant from the ON-DEM COST Action, demonstrating the mutual support between the two EU projects.

These activities reflect the growing impact of SSLiP within the European research landscape and its alignment with ON-DEM’s mission to advance multiscale modelling of granular materials.
