SSLiP at International Year of Quantum Science and Technology

We celebrated the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology at the Institute of Physics Ireland Spring Conference 2025. Thanks to all contributors and organizers, and Institute of Physics's support to PhD students.

Early Career Researcher, Ahmed Ulca, contributed with a follow-up study of our presented work on graphene lubrication in mesoscale (https://lnkd.in/eumX5NT4).
Demonstrating that vertical stiffness measurements by a spherical indenter determined by an interplay of surface roughness and the elastic field can be tuned by a single graphene layer on an ultra-flat substrate. Moreover, simultaneous vertical stiffness measurements show substrate-silicon Oxide surface roughness imprinted on graphene during a reciprocating sliding in agreement with the AFM images.
