My research work was focusing on the nanoscale migration and depletion of PFPE lubrication at head disk interface of HDDs. Currently, I am investigating the rubbing contact and rheology of superlubric particles by MD simulations and theoretically.

What inspired you to pursue a career in a science-related field?

I love natural and beautiful landscapes, as green hills, blue sky and sea. It’s one of my interests to protect our environment by saving energy or lowing down carbon emissions.

What is your role within the SSLiP project? How do you expect your work will contribute to your career development?

In this project, my role is mimicking the movement of confined particles using molecular dynamics simulation methods. The simulations of superlubric particles that are conducted with an all-atom model are necessary to explain the lubrication mechanism, coupling with visualisation of particles movement and contact networks by bond formation or breakage. The connection from macroscale experiments to nanoscale simulations should be lined up so that the simulation model could be truly established.

What are the activities in your current position that you find the most interesting?

The thing is that we can discuss together and get some inspirations from the latest research papers that someone shared on Teamwork. Besides, from the experimental visualisation of particles of UvA, which I can know more about colloids shearing and rheology behavior.

Do you have any advice for future professionals in this field?

Application of superlubricity technologies to production and living. Pay more attention to the requirement of industry.
