Postdoctoral Fellow from Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU)

1- What is your background (Degree, Master Degree, PhD on…)?

I got B.S in Materials Science, M.S and Ph.D degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), South Korea. I researched on the auxeticity of 2D materials and metamaterials using MD simulation.

2-  What inspired you to pursue a career in Science-related field?

I want to make a positive impact on the world, and science offers me opportunities to do it. Moreover, I enjoy critical thinking and solving problems and answering questions related to science.

3-  What is your role within the SSLiP project? How do you expect your work in SSLiP project will contribute to your career development?

I am working on simulation of superlubric multi-contact network using MD simulations. Our task is to understand superlubricity at the nanoscale and apply it to the microscale. Working in SSLiP project, I have chance to collaborate with other experts and get lots of useful advice from them. It will have a positive impact on my future career.

4-  What are the activities in your current position that you find the most interesting and why?

In SSLiP project, I am collaborating with experimental groups at TCD and ECL. It is very interesting to link my theoretical work with experiment. I have lots of chance to discuss with them, and I can learn more about experimental works.

5- Advice for future professionals in this field? This is a career for you if….

This is a career for you if you have passion for continuous learning, staying updates with the latest research and technology.
